Reform UK

The Brexit Party was formed to give a voice to the majority of people who were fed up with the way politics was done in this country. Brexit was about making us free, but beyond Brexit we have to be governed better. The whole system of government in the UK is not working. We renamed the party Reform UK, as we want to be known as the party of reform, which reflects what our country needs. Reform. Real change to benefit the people, to give them back their liberties, and to make our nation more successful.

We are facing the gravest economic crisis since the end of the Second World War, with this decade’s growth at its lowest and tax at its highest for seventy years, inflation at its highest for over thirty years, and energy prices skyrocketing. We must reform our Economy. To succeed we must have lower and simpler taxes, smartly regulated, generating a high growth economy. That will mean higher wage growth and more tax revenues over time, to invest in healthcare and other public services. We need to motivate, train and enthuse two million people on benefits back into work, and provide better support for those who are genuinely unable to work. We must also stop wasting taxpayers’ money. You can see our Emergency Rescue Plan – how to grow our way out of crisis here. We are still working on our proposals for pensions and savings, which we will be releasing in due course.

We must reform our Public Sector, seeking ambitious, faster, and more efficient public services that work better for us all, with better results, and more accountability. Our recently announced plans for health and social care aim to reduce NHS waiting lists to zero in two years time, with frontline patient-facing health and social care workers not paying basic rate income tax for the next two years, which would alleviate the current disputes. You can read the details here. We must increase the number of frontline staff and reduce/improve management. Our military capability must be rapidly rebuilt and maintained; Border Force must protect our borders; our police need to focus on preventing crime and catching criminals; our schools must educate our children properly to prepare them for a competitive, challenging world.

We must reform our Institutions, making major changes to the bodies that impact on our lives. The unelected cronyism of the House of Lords, the outdated civil service, the bloated BBC. Reform is essential to our voting system so that it is fairer and more representative; the two party system embeds the status quo and prevents real change. Under the proportional representation electoral system, which we support, there is no such thing as a wasted vote, and you get genuine representation based on the number of votes cast. The Conservative Party do not use First Past The Post to select their new leader, because they know that it often results in a winner that the majority opposes. So why is it used for general elections? You can add your name and join the movement to end First Past The Post here

We will continue to highlight areas of concern, such as the wastefulness of HS2, the potential national security risks of our involvement with Huawei, the government and mainstream media kowtowing to the radical left in the face of disgraceful attacks on our national values, and the scandal of human trafficking taking place in the English Channel. We must have a zero tolerance attitude to illegal immigration. We need to turn off the magnet of four star hotels, benefits, mobile phones, etc.. Send to France not money, but pick up and return the illegal asylum seekers and their boats, which would be in accordance with the 1974 International Convention of Safety of Lives at Sea.

Following protracted negotiations, the EU (Future Relationship) Act entered into law. Boris Johnson advised that we are a free sovereign independent nation again, politically free of the European Court of Justice, free to govern ourselves as we see fit. However, the UK will still be paying potentially hundreds of millions of pounds each year, to fund unnamed, questionable EU projects including the European Defence Fund via the opaque Horizon Europe programme. There are no agreements in respect of financial services, which accounts for about 80% of the UK’s economic output. Northern Ireland has been put in a different constitutional arrangement to the rest of the United Kingdom with a de facto border down the Irish Sea, and contrary to what we have been told, the Windsor Framework does not improve the situation. The Government should be truthful, remove any impediment or barrier to unfettered trade within the United Kingdom, whether by invoking Clause 16 of the Northern Ireland Protocol, or by some other means. We still do not own the fish that swim in our exclusive economic zone, and to increase our quota share at the end of the adjustment period in 2026, we will have to pay compensation to the EU fleet, so that our fleets can catch our fish in our waters!

The amazing opportunities that Brexit should have been provided have been largely shunned by the Conservative party. Probably because most of the people at the top never really believed in it, for them it was only ever a way of acquiring the power they craved.

It’s now crystal clear that Reform UK is the only party which truly believes in Brexit, and will ever implement it properly, for the benefit of everyone.

For this reason we have incorporated “The Brexit Party” into the Reform UK logo.

We gave Brexit to the Conservatives, it’s time to take it back.

There is a collapse in confidence and trust in the Tory Government, with their hypocrisy, lies, sleaze, U-turns, seeming support for the World Economic Forum’s appalling Great Reset, the new globalist tax agenda, digital currency, digital identity, and the economically unviable green industrial revolution. We can confirm that we want absolutely nothing to do with the WEF, their affiliated individuals, organisations, or their aspirations. What we do want is to save households money, save emissions, and save/create British jobs, but we must be smart about which technologies to use, and maintain a range of types of energy supply, including wind, solar, tidal, geothermal, small modular reactors, hydrogen and ammonia, so that we are not overexposed to any one particular supply. However, this will take time. The Conservatives have turned the UK from being a nett exporter of energy into a large nett importer of energy, and prices are rising dramatically. We must not help finance Putin’s aggression, and should be using our own coal, our own lithium, our own North Sea oil and natural gas, our own shale gas, which can be safely and cheaply extracted without fracking, whilst the alternatives are being developed and instituted.

We want a referendum on the life-changing nett zero plans forced upon us by Westminster politicians. We want the British people to have a say on the country’s energy future and security. We want the country to be self-sufficient in energy. We can produce our own natural gas, along with creating tens of thousands of well paid skilled jobs. We want the five per cent VAT removed from our heating bills, which was one of the Conservative’s Brexit promises, and the green subsidies removed. The 2030 combustion engine ban, the Ultra Low Emission Zones and the fifteen minute neighbourhoods should all be scrapped, as they are neither sensible nor achievable. You can see our solutions to the energy crisis in our Emergency Energy Plan here

The Government’s response to COVID-19 has been woeful. The Coronavirus Act has allowed ministers to make the most draconian decisions, without due process or debate and vote in Parliament. The health and social care levy is a huge tax raid on the poor, it will make no difference to the massive NHS waiting lists without reform, the money will disappear into the NHS and never get to social care, and will probably result in further tax rises in two years time.

The national lockdowns resulted in more life-years lost than it hoped to save, as non-coronavirus patients with cancer, cardiac, diabetes, lung and other illnesses have treatments delayed or cancelled. There is a huge strain on mental health, with potential long-term implications. Business and jobs have been destroyed. The track and trace programme was an expensive failure, as was the provision of PPE supplies; we were threatened with massive fines, and encouraged to spy on our neighbours. The cure is worse than the disease itself.

We continue to monitor the considerable amount of information, and misinformation, regarding COVID-19, vaccinations, hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin, and other physics. Focused protection is its key, targeting resources at those most at risk. The rest of the population should get on with life, allowing immunity to build in the population. The vaccination programme is proceeding. The Government advises us that the vaccines reduce deaths, but they do not know how long the immunity will last, they don’t know if it reduces transmission, they don’t know if it can cope with new variants, and there are conflicting expert opinions. There should now be a full independent analysis into all the data in respect of the causes of the excess deaths, such as ambulance delays, A&E and bed blockages, cancer delays, and vaccine harms, with the results being publicly debated, in order that an informed conclusion can finally be agreed upon. We believe that it is for each individual to choose for themselves whether they consider vaccinations to be necessary, that children should not receive the vaccine, and that people should not have been discriminated against as a result of their decision, regardless of their occupation. We do not support vaccine passports, mandatory vaccinations, or any future lockdown. We should all be able to live our lives free from unnecessary interference.

We have had a change in Leader and in party name. We have needed to rebuild a national structure, and created a wonderful new brand that is fresh, dynamic and optimistic. We are in a period of change and regeneration, altering a lot of how the party is run, and getting more people involved again. We set up working groups, consisting of members who have been playing a part in the development of our policy platform. The first four of these were in the fields of Health, Education, Energy, and Police, Crime, Prisons & Immigration. You can see our healthcare plan here, and our environment & energy plan here, which are the starting points from which our working parties and policy teams are developing our policies. As a result of their steadfast work we have updated Reform is Essential, which outlines our policies, and that you can view here. We have also set up an additional four groups; defence, national security and veterans; agriculture, food and fisheries; transport and infrastructure: and political reform. We will be making these policies available once completed, and other policy groups will be formed in due course.

We are creating a new party structure, with democracy at its very heart. We have laid the foundations, and are now starting out on our plan, building towards the general election. We stood almost five hundred candidates in the local elections, and we are fielding and supporting Prospective Parliamentary Candidates in every constituency in England, Scotland and Wales, and in the forthcoming by-elections. If you would like to put your head above the parapet and be the difference you want to see, you can apply here to be considered to stand for us in the next general election. We will start to announce details of our candidates shortly, and they will be contacting our members and volunteers, starting to build the party and campaign locally. If you would like to get involved and become part of a local group, you can volunteer here

However, with regard to the Uxbridge & South Ruislip and the Mid Bedfordshire by-elections, we have a mutual co-operation agreement with the Reclaim Party, and you can find more details here. We also have Howard Cox, co-founder of FairFuelUK, as our candidate in next year’s London mayoral election, and we will scrap the ULEZ, cut crime, and ditch Sadiq Khan. You can see more details here

Having only been in existence since February 2021, we have already established ourselves as one of the five parties on the political landscape. Reform UK is here, we are growing and we are not going away. We have planted a flag firmly on the political landscape. We are learning, listening, and working hard to ensure that, come the next general election, everyone has the chance to vote for a party that puts the people first, not the ruling elite.
